Diagnose it. Reset it. Rescue it.

A browser-layer rescue kit for long chats that are slowing down, hesitating, or starting to lose the plot.

Basics

What Schrodinger's Chat is for

What is Schrodinger's Chat?

Schrodinger's Chat is a $19/year paid unlock inside the same Chrome Web Store extension as the free Chat Health Meter. It adds platform-aware Browser Reset and Manual Summary Handoff for supported browser AI workspaces.

Who is it for?

It is for people who only occasionally run into long-chat slowdown, hesitation, or context trouble and do not want a monthly continuity system. It gives them a practical emergency path before the chat becomes a haunted canoe with a login screen.

Does it require Continuity Engine?

No. Schrodinger's Chat does not require the local Engine. It runs in the Chrome Web Store extension layer. Continuity Engine Basic is the upgrade when you want permanent local archives, transcript search, highlights, projects, and structured update packages.

Is it a separate app from Chat Health Meter?

No. Chat Health Meter and Schrodinger's Chat are the same Chrome Web Store extension. Health Meter is free. Schrodinger's Chat is the $19/year annual unlock that turns on extra rescue features inside that extension.

How do I open Schrödinger's Chat?

On supported chat pages, click the Chat Health floater in the lower-right corner of the chat. When Schrödinger's Chat is licensed and the local Continuity Engine is not running, the floater opens the Schrödinger's Chat window. If the Engine is running, the same floater switches to Continuity Engine mode and opens the CE sidebar instead.

Rescue tools

Browser Reset and Manual Summary Handoff

What does Browser Reset do?

Browser Reset attempts to refresh browser-side page state that can contribute to visible slowdown, hesitation, or interface drag in supported AI workspaces. It is platform-aware, so the extension can adjust the label and reset behavior for ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini.

Does Browser Reset repair damaged context?

No. Browser Reset may help browser-side responsiveness, but it does not repair backend context degradation, logic drift, or damage caused by repeated AI-side compression rounds. If the conversation itself has degraded, a fresh-chat handoff is still the safer path.

What is Manual Summary Handoff?

Manual Summary Handoff places a summary instruction into the current chat. The user presses Send, lets the AI generate a detailed summary, then downloads, copies, or drags that summary into the prompt of a new chat.

Does the summary handoff preserve everything?

No. Schrodinger's Chat relies on the current AI chat to generate the summary. If the chat's memory or logic is already damaged, the summary can carry some of that damage. Continuity Engine Basic is stronger because it uses local transcript capture, search, highlights, and Engine-backed update packages.

Which AI workspaces are supported?

The target browser AI workspaces are ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini in Chrome/Chromium-family browsers. Users install through the Chrome Web Store, not Developer Mode. Platform details can change because each AI company controls its own browser interface.

Upgrade path

How it compares with Continuity Engine

How is Schrodinger's Chat different from Continuity Engine Basic?

Schrodinger's Chat is the emergency kit. Continuity Engine Basic is the workshop. Schrodinger's Chat helps rescue occasional long chats with health monitoring, Browser Reset, and Manual Summary Handoff. CE Basic saves near-identical searchable HTML transcripts locally, supports transcript search, user-selected highlights, projects/sessions, deterministic capsules, and richer update packages.

Does Schrodinger's Chat save a local transcript archive?

No. It does not create the permanent local transcript archive that CE Basic creates. It does not save near-identical HTML transcripts, build a Highlights Library, or maintain multi-session project memory.

When should I upgrade?

Upgrade when long AI work is not a rare emergency anymore. If you regularly need to find decisions, preserve exact wording, search old chats, save images/files, carry highlights forward, or combine multiple sessions into a project, Continuity Engine Basic is the right tool.

Can I start with Schrodinger's Chat and upgrade later?

Yes. That is the point of the product ladder. Start free with Chat Health Meter, unlock Schrodinger's Chat for occasional rescues, and move to Continuity Engine when continuity becomes part of your normal AI workflow.

Need more than a rescue?

Continuity Engine keeps the record safe and searchable.

If you need permanent local HTML transcripts, transcript search, highlights, projects, and better update packages, compare Schrodinger's Chat with Continuity Engine Basic.
